Who are we...

We are industry working for industry.

Tourism is made up of all sizes of businesses, from the large national organisation down to the small independently run micro business. We believe we’re all equally important and want to help give everyone the chance to shine. We raise our own funds and do not charge local businesses for the work we do.

VisitDundee was created and is operated as a social enterprise by representatives of Dundee’s tourism and hospitality industry to provide independent, industry led marketing support to our fellow businesses and organisations that operate in the Dundee area. Who knows tourism better than those who do it, day in, day out.

We are industry working for industry to promote Dundee; a fantastic short break destination where visitors have so much to discover.

Paul formed VisitDundee in 2018 and has Chaired the organisation since then.

Dr. Paul Jennings has worked in the tourism industry for over twenty-four years. During that time he has led eight different visitor attractions including Dundee Science Centre, Discovery Point and Verdant Works.

  • Favourite place to meet up in Dundee? – ‘My favourite place for lunch or dinner in Dundee is Gallery 48 – a cool little Tapas Bar which serves super tasty food in a relaxed atmosphere with amazing staff.  You could spend a few hours there just grazing on their delicious treats, I’m not a vegetarian but, their broccoli with garlic and almonds is a favourite as is their spinach with pine nuts and raisins.  Lots of treats to tantalise the taste buds and very reasonable prices too.  Buen apetito!!’
  • Must see in Dundee? – ‘I never tire of visiting the McManus Galleries, it is an amazing building both inside and out, has a programme of brilliant exhibitions, a great little restaurant and a gift shop that just constantly has me opening my purse!!  You could easily spend the day there and admission is free, so why wouldn’t you?’
  • Great Experience in the area? – ‘I may be well know for sitting around sipping a G&T more often than not, but this year I started venturing into the North Sea with my sisters, and have been dipping in and out of the tidal pools in the East Neuk since April.  Initially in a wetsuit, but during the summer just in ‘skins’ (the OWS slang for swimsuit!!).  Something that I haven’t experienced yet, but definitely on my bucket list for next year is Wildshore Dundee, which is based at City Quay, an aqua adventure park, right on the doorstep, so watch this space!!!’
