Leading members of Dundee’s tourism sector have lent their support to a new electric bus route in Dundee.
Verdant Works, Discovery Point and VisitDundee are backing Service 360, which will operate every 20 minutes around the city centre.
Operated by Xplore Dundee, it stops off at major points of interest as well as the bus and train stations and points along the waterfront.
Launched just days after the opening of V&A Dundee, Service 360 – the city’s first electric bus – is working with visitor attractions to offer entry discounts.
Dundee Heritage Trust, which runs Verdant Works and Discovery Point, where the historic ship RRS Discovery is docked, has given Service 360 their blessing. Meanwhile, the new organisation VisitDundee, launched to promote Dundee as a destination for short breaks, is also backing it. Verdant Works is currently hosting the touring LEGO exhibition, Brick City.
Paul Jennings, Executive Director of Dundee Heritage Trust and Chairman of the Board at VisitDundee, said:
“Xplore Dundee’s Service 350 is a welcome addition to the city’s transport offerings and will be extremely valuable for visitors, especially those who are here for the first time. It’s an excellent new service for locals too.”
